Violet-belied Hummingbird (Chlorestes julie)

One of those flying jewels that (even in a close-up picture) are difficult to fully capture all of its glittering beauty and magnificent presence.
With a distribution between Panama and Ecuador, this wonderful hummingbird is one of my favorites.

One of those uncommon gems of the forest, this tanager can be sighted following mixed flocks and rarely visits feeders.

One of those easily overlooked dwellers of the forest, often sitting quietly at low levels on the search for insects, it shall display its white whiskers when encounters another bird of the same kind.
