The Constitutional Guarantees Commission of the National Assembly is advancing with the investigation of the Pandora Papers, which revealed that before being president, Guillermo Lasso had links with 14 companies in countries or jurisdictions considered tax havens. Lasso said he had dissolved the companies in 2017, after a law was passed that prohibited officials and politicians from being beneficiaries of companies domiciled in tax havens....

With all the talk of the Pandora Papers in the news here, it made me think back to the Pentagon Papers and the impact they had in politics in America. For those who don’t know, the Pentagon Papers were a government report from the office of the Secretary of Defense that laid out the extent of the United States’ political and military involvement in Vietnam, all the way back to 1945 and up to 1967....
