The summers in Europe get hotter and dryer every year, the Middle East might be difficult to travel to, other countries have lost some of their attraction.
The Caribbean are as beautiful as ever and especially in Dominica the world is still alright.
What exactly means "Rainy Season" or "Hurricane Season"?
Dominica is home to the last virgin tropical rain-forest in the Caribbean, meaning it occasionally rains at all times of the year, even during dry season. During the Rainy Season it does rain more often but certainly not every day.
And the hurricanes? Strong storms and hurricanes usually happen towards end of August and in September. The waters of the Atlantic Ocean must warm up to at least 27°C, not only on the surface, but down to 50m. Only then the conditions for the formation of hurricanes exist.
The summer months in Dominica are the low season. No crowds at the sites, no cruise ships, hours of hiking in the rain-forest at pleasant temperatures without meeting anybody else, beautiful beaches all to yourself, even on the west coast temperatures rarely rise above 34°C.
All very good reasons to spend the summer holidays in Dominica!
