er week, year after year, because it is so deeply embedded in us and -ironically- that makes it feel familiar and therefore kind of "safe", which makes changing it rather challenging because feeling good and being happy is out of our comfort zone...

Even the most sincere efforts to change the self-destructive patterns may fail and lead to feelings of hopelessness and despair, putting you in the victim state which will not serve you well in the long run. Trust me, I know. I did it for 42 years. The self-sabotaging behaviours can show in many odd ways like weight gain, weight loss, headache, stomach ache, constant feeling of unhappiness and/or inadequacy, never beeing satisfied with your body or your appearance, or the opposite overly focused and obsessed with your body and your appearance, endless nagging and conflicts, loneliness, insecurity, jealousy, low or no self-esteem, unhealthy relationships and countless crushing break-ups...

I know, because I've been there. I am daily working on never getting back to self-hatred, negative self-talk, and constant dissatisfaction.
