My slow fashion advice: It’s all about power and at the end – we, us, the fashion citizens have the power, and we can slow down and make a difference about how we shop, treat our clothing and stop buying frequent fashion trends. I believe the first step to do – is RE-LOVE your clothing again and again and again and again! Revisit your wardrobe, see what you have and see what changes or a new belt/ shoes could do to create a new look.

'do what you love and love what you do' : Since I was a little girl, I've always dreamt of being a creative soul (fashion designer) and I've been working towards my fashion vision for the past +17 years. My label is called Phine Raun : and fashion design has always been my deepest passion, especially the vintage era, sparkling back to the 1920's to 1970's. I also have a deep love for holistic living. I am vintage & hippie - and I believe it is important to slow down (currently on a MBS travel).

The past +5 years, I have been a dedicated advocate working very closely with the SLOW FASHION movement from design techniques, creative innovations, design and business collaborations, Slow Fashion talks, UPCYCLE / redesign workshops and lots of creative projects with Slow Fashion styling. Working with the local CPH community, NGOs and world wide. 'Slow Fashion is the New Fashion' - 2014.

We have the power as fashion citizens! Buy less and think about the sustainable impacts. Grow a love connection to your wardrobe! Love the People and the Planet. Don't buy a new t-shirt, redesign and UPCYCLE : grab an old one (your boyfriends) or from a secondhand shop, and remake a new style that fits you! Make a strong fashion statement and ask a fashion brand ?

Dress to Impress with Individual Style! I’ll be honest, I did not grow up with the slow fashion mindset, that has been taught to me through my own values and beliefs (and now I am living and breathing ‘Slow Fashion is the New Fashion’ with my personal fashion brand, Phine Raun). I grew up in the 1990’s (Sydney & Brisbane, Australia) where the fashion mindset was pushed beyond grounds, that you always had to wear a new outfit / style for social activities and events. I was a sucker for fast fashion. Not proud of it – even worked in fashion retail store for years and seen what goes on behind the fashion value chain. My personal wardrobe was quickly growing bigger and bigger – with more emotional story attachments to the clothing, that it was hard for me to throw away (but when I do, I donate). Now, after many years later and been working in the fashion industry for +17 years worldwide, I have seen the positive and negative aspects. The fashion industry is a very paradox industry and we, us, the fashion citizens have the power to slow down fast fashion. Start by buying less, wear your clothing more. If you need a new style, buy second hand from an op-shop or a vintage shop (or borrow from a friend!), and only buy clothing that is good quality, sustainable, durability and timeless. I don’t follow trends – I make my own trends with my own styles. Look at the streets and other people and get inspired, but follow your heart (your true persona), your body shape and mostly important comfort and functionality. Make sure it is something you will wear again, again and again. Create some slow fashion love with your personal wardrobe.

She believes that the clothes we buy and wear daily, can be used and loved again and again (and again), and therefore she doesn’t label them to a specific season or trend. Every piece is a ‘One of a Kind’ design in high sustainable quality, as all are uniquely local produced - and not two pieces are identically. Made in Denmark.

The Flower Power dresses are made of carefully selected and upcycled 1960’s/1970’s vintage bedsheets, crochets, trimming and lined with
standard 100 OEKO-TEX cotton to create a slow fashion and sustainable design, where it does not only look beautiful and feel good, but is also a better solution for the environment. All Phine Raun fashion designs are either upcycled or upcycled combined with sustainable products, such as standard 100 OEKO-TEX. Also, we think about the whole design and production process and how we can make it as sustainable as possible. We only have one planet Earth – let’s take care of it. Slow Fashion LOVE! ➖➖➖
