We were pleased to participate in the FarmWateREuse network meeting hosted by PIA - Prüfinstitut für Abwassertechnik GmbH in Aachen.

The initiative focuses on developing technologies for water treatment and reuse in agriculture, helping to protect groundwater resources and strengthen farm resilience.

With increasing drought and irrigation demand, reliable data and sustainable solutions are more important than ever.

Spring check for your pH meter 🌱

With the new growing season starting, it’s the perfect time to make sure your COMBI 5000 is ready for accurate measurements.

Here are three key things to review:

🔎 1. Check your pH electrode status
pH electrodes are consumables. Even high-quality probes typically last 2–3 years, depending on usage and maintenance.
With the COMBI 5000, you can easily check the condition of your pH probe directly on the device. If the slope or offset values are out of range, it may be time for a replacement.

🧪 2. Use fresh calibration solutions
Your calibration buffers define your accuracy. If they drift, your measurements drift as well.
Always use clean, uncontaminated solutions and replace them regularly. Compared to the cost of incorrect nutrient management, fresh buffers are a very small investment.

🔁 3. Calibrate regularly
For best results, calibrate before the first measurement of the day.
If you are taking many readings, recalibration after approximately every 25 measurements helps maintain precision.

Accurate pH measurement directly impacts nutrient availability and plant performance. A properly maintained COMBI 5000 ensures you can rely on your data throughout the season.
