Last year, we had the opportunity to collaborate once again with a team from Sycamore Architects led by on an exciting competition: the Renovation and Development of Rifugio Graffer, a historic mountain shelter perched among the highest peaks of the Italian Alps.

Our shared goal was to reinterpret the identity of this alpine refuge — a place of rest, protection, and contemplation: through a contemporary architectural vision that respects both its natural surroundings and cultural heritage. The project sought to harmonize modern comfort with the raw beauty of the mountain landscape, creating a dialogue between future and past.

Throughout the process, we focused on capturing the spirit of the site: the shifting light, the sense of isolation, and the relationship between human presence and vast nature. These images represent the essence of our collaboration: a blend of architectural precision and atmospheric storytelling.
