What is the difference between lend and borrow?
📌 Lend [lend]. We use lend when we give something to someone, i.e. we give them our things. This could be anything: money, a car, a dress for the evening, etc.
I could lend you $100 if you need it.
I wish i'd never lent him my car.
📌 Borrow [ˈbɒrəʊ]. The verb borrow we use when we want to take something from someone. For example, borrowing money from a friend for a paycheck, a player to listen to music while you are on the road, or even a book from the library.
Can I borrow your calculator?
I borrowed his bike.
