RETURN TO SELEEN PRIME - A TNG & STARFLEET LEGENDS CROSSOVER

Nachdem die Captains und Sternenflottenlegenden April, Pike und Garth vor mehr als einem Jahrhundert die Seleen vor der völligen Auslöschung durch die Klingonen gerettet haben, zogen sich die Seleen auf eine neue, von der Föderation beschützen Welt zurück, um sich zu erholen und ihre Zivilisation wieder aufzubauen. Die Seleen hatten damals darum gebeten für sich zu bleiben und dass die Sternenflotte erst in einhundert Jahren zurückkehren sollte, um neuerliche Verhandlungen aufzunehmen.
Nach dieser Zeit schickte die Sternenflotte ihr Flagschiff, die USS Enterprise NCC 1701 D, um eben dies zu tun.
Aber die Seleen haben sich in dieser Zeit wohl einen neuen Feind gemacht, der nun seinerseits die Enterprise angreift.
Der Feind scheint der Enterprise überlegen zu sein, sodass Captain Picard entscheidet, das Schiff zu trennen, um aus mehreren Richtungen den Feind zu stellen.

After Captains and Starfleet legends April, Pike, and Garth saved the Seleen from total extinction by the Klingons more than a century ago, the Seleen retreated to a new, Federation-protected world to recover and rebuild their civilization. At the time, the Seleen requested to remain private and that Starfleet not return for another 100 years to begin negotiations.
After that time, Starfleet sent its flagship, the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 D, to do just that.
But the Seleen have apparently made a new enemy during this time, which is now attacking the Enterprise.
The enemy appears to be superior to the Enterprise, so Captain Picard decides to split the ship up to engage the enemy from multiple directions.

THE GREAT EXPERIMENT

The USS Excelsior lies silently in space, awaiting the arrival of its captain before embarking on its first transwarp test flight. At this point, no one knows that the entire experiment is doomed to failure, and that the Excelsior, originally designed for Thorndyke's transwarp drive, will ultimately be equipped with a conventional warp drive and will form the backbone of Starfleet for at least 50 years.
