Last weekend was the first time I wore a _complete_ outfit from the 1900s – or almost complete: the corset was a modern one (I can't sit in the one I made myself 🥲), and the parasol was kindly borrowed from . Despite the heat, it was pure joy to wear, especially while walking with a group of like-minded souls.

One very beautiful moment was watching parasol after parasol open as we walked – a rare and magical sight these days.

I sewed this dress for a wedding, and let me tell you, it was a journey. At one point, I only had 48 hours left to finish it, and I hate rushing anything—especially when it comes to sewing! 😅

It’s far from perfect, but it worked well for the day, and that’s what matters most. I actually ended up learning a lot in the process. Being forced to work faster pushed me to try different techniques I wouldn’t have thought of otherwise. Sometimes the best lessons come when you least expect them.

I really like this outfit, even though it's a bit of a weird mix of colors and patterns. The hat is what I’m still getting used to. I didn’t realize while wearing it how low it sat on my face, but in the pictures, my eyes almost disappear!

I wonder if that was intentional back in the day—maybe it added a bit of mystery, making it hard to see where you’re looking. It's definitely an interesting vibe!
