Dear followers, happy to announce yet another installment in the deep digging archival series. This time around it’s from our most high profile period, the years 96-98 when we toured like crazy all over Europe. In 1998 alone we did 108 gigs! The new products that we touted in sweaty beery smoky dance halls were the Carefully Blended EP (1997) and the second full length album Worldwide Delivery (1998). The WWD album was even released in Japan and the US! Anyway: here are the surviving demos and rehearsal tapes presented as a full length homemade album. Since we don’t expect anyone else to give us the re-release bonus track deluxe treatment we might as well do a lofi version of it ourselves. The title ”Second Coming” sounds very pretentious but what the hell, original guitarist Pelle had quit during this period and new sixstringer Danne came in armed with a bunch of cracking song ideas, the first one being ”Kick De Bucket”! We were duly stunned and went for an intense tunesmith ride together all seven of us. Breaking up the chronology here due to poor sound quality (the CB demos being recorded amateurishly on my four track cassette porta) it seemed logical to place the more hifi sounding WWD tracks first on this album. You will find that many of the songs have different lyrics, parts in different order, slower and faster tempos compared to the finalized versions officially released. Eureka, there are even FOUR songs never released in any form anywhere else! As many of the songs weren’t fully formed at the time of recording you have to put up with adoring mistakes, repeated verses, Robert not singing on two of them (Danne doing it lovely on ”Thunder and Lightning”, me doing it badly on the ”Christina” rehearsal runthrough, sorry, but maybe exciting to follow a song taking shape, yes?). Oh, there’s lots more to say and discuss… how we borrowed the drum beat to ”Back in Standard Gravity” from ”Making Plans for Nigel” by XTC, where did the surreal spagetti western landscape of the ”Mr Jones/Wright” intro come from and why was it ditched, how big an impact the sensitive ears and sensible re-arranging skills of WWD producer Erik Hjärpe had on a tune like ”Wrong Side of Town”, the intro horn riff of ”Another Day, Another Night” being recycled from first demo tape song ”We Not Leavin’” (listen to ”First Tapes” for proof), the p***y attack in the beginning and the giggles at the end of ”The End”, the very dramatic and highly strung epos ”Fear” that I seem to remember being performed at least once at Mejeriet in Lund, the mumbly or rather very badly recorded vocals on ”Guy On The Bus” that are supposed to tell the story about a racist opera lover, the future formidable transformation of the CB material in the hands of producers The Mopeds and the adding of the string arrangement at the end of ”Youth of Today” by Martin Hederos… but I think I’ll stop here!
