Sacred streets of Kairouan ✨

Wearing a traditional Chinese dress I bought eight years ago—part of a collection of traditional outfits I’ve been bringing along for this birthday journey—I wandered through the UNESCO-listed heart of Kairouan.

From a chance encounter with an unexpected local guide near the mosque, to colorful tea houses tucked into the old city and a sacred well wrapped in stories and tradition, the day unfolded slowly, one alley at a time.

Some places don’t just welcome you—they stay with you.

A perfect Sousse escape 🇹🇳✨

Seafood ojja on a rooftop overlooking the sea and the UNESCO-listed Medina. A wander through colorful alleys. Sunset melting into twilight from the Ribat.

Then waking up to a balcony overlooking the beach, a morning stroll on soft white sand, and endless shades of Mediterranean blue.

History, sea, and slow moments—the best kind of travel.

A lamb kebab overlooking the UNESCO-listed amphitheater of El Djem, followed by a deep dive into Roman history and some of the most breathtaking mosaics I’ve ever seen.

A quick wander through the UNESCO-listed Medina of Tunis, followed by an authentic couscous dinner with traditional live music inside a former palace.

A simple birthday in Berlin ✨

After pre-birthday adventures through Turkey and Tunisia, country 107, this year’s celebration was quieter—wandering through Madame Tussauds, drifting along the Spree on a long river cruise, then ending the day at home with salmon teriyaki and a glass of sparkling wine 🥂

No big party. Just gratitude, good memories, and a life that already feels full.
