When people talk about q***r history in the US, they usually talk about New York or San Francisco.
But long before rainbow crosswalks, Provincetown was already becoming a refuge for artists, outsiders, dreamers and LGBTQ+ people looking for a place where they could simply exist.
A tiny town at the very end of Cape Cod somehow became one of the most important q***r places in USA.
From one of the first openly LGBTQ+ bars in the country, to the world’s oldest continuing transgender event, to feminist bookshops, drag culture, activism and decades of community-building — Provincetown’s story is much bigger than most people realise.
Maybe that’s why so many people keep coming back.
For generations, Provincetown offered something that was surprisingly rare:
A place to belong. 💛🌈
Have you ever been to P-Town?
And what q***r town, neighbourhood or city should we explore next? 👇

Part 2 🌈
After Part 1, loads of you shared neighbourhoods we had never even heard of before, and honestly... we loved it 💛
One of the best things about this community is seeing people recommend places from all over the world, not just the usual q***r hotspots.
Of course, we couldn’t fit every amazing neighbourhood into one post (or even two 😭).
So keep the recommendations coming 👇
Which q***r neighbourhood, street, town or area do you think more people should know about?
And if you’ve been to any of the places on this list, tell us:
✨ worth the hype?
👀 overrated?
💛 somewhere you’d move to tomorrow?
We’re already taking notes for Part 3.

Not gonna lie...
Half of these neighbourhoods have made us look at apartment prices at least once 😭🌈
There’s something special about arriving somewhere and realising q***r people haven’t just passed through.
They’ve built community there.
They’ve opened cafés, bookstores, community centres, bars, art spaces and entire movements.
And honestly? That’s what makes a place memorable.
Okay, your turn:
