Criminal Courts
Just Another Face of Policing
w/ Sophie Schneider (Courtwatch Berlin) and Anthony Obst (Justice Collective)
IRL ⌂ Tuesday, June 2nd - 19:00 CEST
Criminal courts work hand in hand with brutal policing to punish poverty and reproduce racism. Join us for a discussion with activists from Courtwatch Berlin and Justice Collective about their work attending public hearings in Berlin’s courts and offering support to people affected. This is the second in a series of events about policing in Berlin.
Courtwatch Berlin is a group of prison abolitionists organizing against mass criminalization and the criminalization of poverty as a system that both produces and is a product of racial capitalism. Currently, they are working to disrupt the so-called “Schnellgericht,” in which judges process cases in 15-minute intervals and routinely impose life-altering sentences for minor offenses such as riding without a ticket or petty theft.
Justice Collective is a Berlin-based organization that challenges injustices in criminal legal and migration systems, particularly as they relate to issues of poverty, racism, and their intersection. Justice Collective seeks to disrupt these systems through various strategies and tactics including research, political education, advocacy, and organizing. We also support people and communities impacted by policing and criminalization.

Dreamwork
An Artist Workshop into the Creative Shadow
w/ BEA1991
IRL ⌂ Sunday, May 10th
14:00 – 17:00 CEST
Kluckstraße 25, 10785 Berlin
Drawing on Jungian dream analysis, the language of geology, modern interpretations of Animism, Pantheism and Immanence, Bea weaves various toolkits together with her more instinctive practice as an autodidact musician, designer and artist counsellor.
Over three hours, fellow artists are invited into introspective landscapes of Creative Individuation. Through group and solo exercises, we peel back the Artist Ego, explore hidden judgements around inner creativity, and bring into focus what is wanting to emerge ~ while actively protecting what wants to remain mysterious.
