My new piano piece, Late Again, out now. Perhaps it's a result of living in Germany for so long but unlike the Nige of yesteryear, these days I do like to be pünktlich. I wrote this one after a particularly stressful experience in Berlin trying to get home in time to teach a new English class. My F2F meeting beforehand went over time and I jumped on a train without getting a ticket because the train was leaving and there was no time to buy one. Before I could purchase a ticket on my phone, I got busted by a ticket inspector and had to get off the train, making me later still (and 60€ poorer). Then I had to change trains but there was a problem with the line so I had to find the replacement bus, which wasn't well-signposted so I ended up running up and down the street looking for it. Eventually it became clear I wasn't going to make my class so I had to phone in and cancel it. When I finally got home, I wrote and recorded this piece. My new piano piece, Westmere Blues, out now. This is one of the first piano pieces I wrote when I was living in Westmere, Auckland in the early 2000s. I've had fun banging this one out in various bars around NZ and Berlin over the years and it's different every time but I quite like this version.
