What is your experience with those email marketing statements?
Cause at the risk of sounding like a broken record...
It depends.
Your subscribers are unique to you.
Your business might be serving people in multiple time zones.
You know what works for your audience best (or at least, so I hope).
So please don't be discouraged by statements like that.
Test everything and ask for feedback from your subscribers.
Cater to them, not to the statistics.

Here's something I hear a lot -
"How do I make sure that I finish my email with a strong call to action? I write my emails and by the end, I forget all about it!"
Can you relate?
Well, to that I have two answers:
1. Not every email needs a call to action, or links, or whatever. You can also nurture your list without those all the time!
2. Start by writing your CTA first, then continue as you were. Odds are - your email would take a shape that makes a lot more sense now!

Here's why this post matters to you as a business owner -
You can do better than this!
If you think any of these tactics are disrespectful or sleazy, flip it and reverse it (yes, this is absolutely a Missy Elliott reference).
But you can definitely work around those and do email marketing ethically...
Your way, without playing tricks on your subscribers.

Don't go chasing waterfalls... 🏃♀️
Great, now that we all got this classic of a song stuck in our heads and I have your undivided attention, hear me out -
The fact that you care about your business so much is great, but you know all too well that being too close to *anything* you care about that much can set you up in the worst possible way. 😣
What do I mean by that?
Let's take your copy as an example.
Have you ever tried writing your own website? How about a 7-parts email sequence? 🤔
I know I have last year, and those were some of the hardest things I'd had to tick off my to-do list in 2021. 🙋
Not only that it took me ages to write those for my own business, but I also gave a couple of my colleagues to have a look at those, to make sure that I'm on the right track.
Yup, being too close to my business and writing my own copy was a pain in the ass! 👀
But when it comes to writing for others, that thing is a breeze. Unfortunately, you don't have the luxury of doing that - you barely have the time and energy to write for yourself!
So do yourself a favor, don't go chasing waterfalls. Let someone else give your business the TLC (Tender Loving Copy, that is!) it really deserves. 💜
