In the world of winemaking there are good and bad years and 2025 in Loire was exceptional. This is true of the new vintages by our winemaker partners in Blois, all of which have noticeable aromatics and ripe fruit notes throughout. 2025 was a particularly warm, dry year in the region which led to one of the earliest harvests on record, despite low temperatures at night threatening fruit growth.

Climatic shifts in general alter the delicate balance of viticulture and leave vines more dependent on those who tend to them. Increasingly, winemakers (and all farmers) are having to adapt annually to these changes, with low-intervention wineries in particular, more at risk to varying temperatures. It’s very humbling to see these efforts in practice, especially when the wines being produced are incredible.
