With Python Ingest, you can:
🚀 implement custom ingestion logic,
🚀 remove boilerplate code to load data into your data warehouse, and

Announcing Python Ingest | Y42 While writing Python scripts locally to extract data might seem like a breeze, deploying, managing security, dependencies and infrastructure are not.

Are you in the process of implementing a data warehouse like Google's BigQuery and dipping your toes into building data models with dbt Labs?
Hear from a practitioner who has worked with both tools and learn a few tricks that help you get the most out of both tools. We’ll discuss how to save valuable resources with specific BigQuery functions, clustering your tables, and choosing the right materialization strategy.

Best practices for working with dbt and Bigquery - A practitioner's guide | Y42 One of the benefits of dbt is the ability to harness BigQuery’s specific functionalities like timeouts, sample functions, partitioning, and clustering directly within your transformations.

📖 Meet Giang, Customer Success & Support Manager at Y42. This is his story:
🇻🇳 Not long before I was born, my parents came to Germany from Vietnam. Until I was eight years old, we actually lived in an asylum (a so-called Asylheim). Munich was my home until I was 25.
🏫 I had a great childhood. I never lacked anything, but I was quite the rebel and didn’t have the best grades. However, through hard work, I moved up in school over time.
📊 When I finished high school, I enrolled to study economics and got a part-time job. Since I was living at home at the time, I could use the money I worked for to travel, and I really enjoyed the student life.
🧭 After graduating, I thought about doing a masters in Amsterdam. But, when I joined an ecommerce company in Berlin as an intern, I decided to move there instead.
☎️ At one point, Hung, who I’d met at university, called me up to talk about this new company he was starting. After a few meetups, I decided to join him, and I’m glad I did.
🙌 What I appreciate most at Y42 is the openness and honesty. We can’t solve issues if we don’t talk about them, and doing exactly that brings a lot of value to the job.
🛤️ Over the years, I learned that there’s no need to conform. I used to think I had to work as a banker or consultant because I studied economics. But in reality, you need to create your own path.
🚀 I’d also say that timing, dedication, diligence, and the right amount of luck are crucial for seizing opportunities, even if others are smarter than you.
