Let’s find out in the upcoming Artist Talk with Pierre-Yves Cruaud, the joint 1st Prize Winner of the BBA Photography Prize 2025, centering on his exhibition “While the Shadows Dream Upright.

The exhibition explores the night as a territory of memory and mystery, capturing the exact moments where reality fades to make room for fragments of dreams. Drawing on his background in cinema, Cruaud constructs his photographs like minimalist, theatrical paintings rather than standard snapshots. Instead of passive subjects, the characters in his images are caught in moments of psychological transformation and suspense, using the dream world not as an escape, but as a vital strategy to adapt and survive.

Join us on Saturday, 4. July as Photographers Michael Grecco, USA Michael Grecco and Per Schorn, Germany Per Schorn transform BBA Gallery into a raw testament to punk subculture ⚡🎸📸  

Bringing together different eras, cities, and viewpoints, this exhibition bridges the explosive, live energy of Grecco’s late 70s Boston archive with the intimate, off-stage self-portraits of Schorn’s international photo booth project. It is a striking look at a movement that refuses to conform.
