Teplice Chess Club and TV DAKR: Together we bring chess closer to the public.

During this year's Spa Season in Teplice, Teplice Chess Club established a successful cooperation with the regional television station TV DAKR, the result of which is a processed video shot presenting the promotion and activities of the club at one of the most important social events in our spa town of Teplice. The aim of the cooperation was to capture chess in its natural environment among people and to show that this sport is not intended only for tournament players, but can appeal to all generations. During the event, the camera crew documented not only the games themselves, but also the interest of visitors, the work of club members and the unique atmosphere that accompanied the presentation of Teplice Chess Club. The resulting reportage represents a modern way of promoting the sport of chess and allows reaching the general public even outside the venue of the event. "The media plays a key role in popularizing the sport these days. We greatly appreciate the cooperation with TV DAKR, which was able to capture not only the course of the event, but also the idea that we are trying to convey to the public, that chess is open to everyone, regardless of age or experience. Cooperation with TV DAKR is another step in the club's long-term effort to present chess in a modern and attractive way. Video content today represents one of the most effective communication tools and allows us to bring the chess community closer to a wider audience. At the same time, the report captures the energy, enthusiasm and friendly atmosphere that are characteristic of Teplice Chess Club.

Teplice Chess Club navázal během letošní Lázeňské sezóny v Teplicích úspěšnou spolupráci s regionální televizí TV DAKR, jejímž výsledkem je zpracovaný videošot představující propagaci a činnost klubu na jedné z nejvýznamnějších společenských akcí v našem lázeňském městě Teplice. Cílem spolupráce bylo zachytit šachy v jejich přirozeném prostředí mezi lidmi a ukázat, že tento sport není určen pouze turnajovým hráčům, ale dokáže oslovit všechny generace. Kamerový štáb během akce dokumentoval nejen samotné partie, ale také zájem návštěvníků, práci členů klubu a jedinečnou atmosféru, která provázela prezentaci Teplice Chess Club. Vzniklá reportáž představuje moderní způsob propagace šachového sportu a umožňuje oslovit širokou veřejnost i mimo samotné místo konání akce. „Média hrají v dnešní době klíčovou roli při popularizaci sportu. Velmi si vážíme spolupráce s TV DAKR, která dokázala zachytit nejen průběh akce, ale také myšlenku, kterou se snažíme veřejnosti předávat, že šachy jsou otevřené každému bez ohledu na věk či zkušenosti. Young junior from Klášterec nad Ohří: Radek Vaic won the AFM (Arena FIDE Master) title.

Young chess player Radek Vaic from TJ Klášterec nad Ohří achieved significant success when he won the international Arena FIDE Master (AFM) title. This title is awarded by the International Chess Federation FIDE to players who have long-term confirmed high-quality performance and regularly achieve stable and good results in tournaments and online competitions of the FIDE Arena system. For the young junior, this is an important step in his chess career and confirmation of significant game progress throughout the season. The results confirm the growing form of not only Radek, but also his brother Pavel. The 2024/2025 season was extremely successful for Radek Vaic. He regularly participated in rapid and classic tournaments and gained valuable experience. He achieved great success at the January Krušnohorský rapid tournament, where he dominated the junior category with 6 points and scored a significant 88 points in the rapid ELO FIDE. The tournament organizers praised his stable performances and ability to handle complex positions in endgames. He also started at the Most Chess Festival and other open tournaments in the Ústí nad Labem region, where he confirmed his stable performance and gradual rating growth.

Honest home preparation is behind his success.
Radek Vaice's results are not accidental. Regular personal home preparation and systematic work on chess development play a major role in his performance growth. The young player devotes a lot of time to studying openings and analyzing his own games, as well as practicing tactical motives.

Arena FIDE Master as motivation for the future.
Winning the Arena FIDE Master title represents not only an award for young juniors' previous chess work, but also motivation for the years to come. Given his age and constantly growing performance, it is clear that he has the potential to strive for higher titles. The 2024/2025 chess season thus marked a significant step forward for Radek Vaic and indicated that the Czech chess scene will definitely hear more about the talented junior from Klášterec nad Ohří.

Mladý junior z Klášterce nad Ohří: Radek Vaic získal titul AFM (Arena FIDE Master)
Mladý šachista Radek Vaic z TJ Klášterec nad Ohří dosáhl významného úspěchu, když získal mezinárodní titul Arena FIDE Master (AFM). Tento titul uděluje Mezinárodní šachová federace FIDE hráčům, kteří dlouhodobě potvrzují kvalitní výkonnost a pravidelně dosahují stabilních a dobrých výsledků v turnajích i online soutěžích systému FIDE Arena. Pro mladého juniora jde o důležitý krok v jeho šachové kariéře a potvrzení výrazného herního progresu během celé sezóny. Výsledky potvrzující rostoucí formu nejen Radka, ale i jeho bratra Pavla. Sezóna 2024/2025 byla pro Radka Vaice mimořádně úspěšná. Pravidelně nastupoval v rapidových i klasických turnajích a sbíral cenné zkušenosti. Velký úspěch zaznamenal na lednovém turnaji Krušnohorský rapid, kde ovládl juniorskou kategorii se ziskem 6 bodů a připsal si výrazných 88 bodů do rapid ELO FIDE. Organizátoři turnaje ocenili jeho stabilní výkony i schopnost zvládat složité pozice v koncovkách. Startoval rovněž na Mosteckém šachovém festivalu a dalších otevřených turnajích v Ústeckém kraji, kde potvrzoval stabilní výkonnost a postupný ratingový růst.

Za úspěchem stojí poctivá domácí příprava.
Výsledky Radka Vaice nejsou náhodné. Velkou roli v jeho výkonnostním růstu hraje osobní pravidelná domácí příprava a systematická práce na šachovém rozvoji. Mladý hráč věnuje mnoho času studiu zahájení a analýzám vlastních partií i procvičování taktických motivů.

Arena FIDE Master jako motivace do budoucna.
Zisk titulu Arena FIDE Master představuje pro mladé juniory nejen ocenění dosavadní šachové práce, ale také motivaci do dalších let. Vzhledem k jeho věku a stále rostoucí výkonnosti je zřejmé, že má potenciál usilovat i o vyšší tituly. Šachová sezóna 2024/2025 tak pro Radka Vaice znamenala výrazný posun vpřed a naznačila, že o talentovaném juniorovi z Klášterce nad Ohří ještě česká šachová scéna určitě uslyší.

The Ore Mountains Rapid attracted young chess players and grandmasters.

On Saturday, May 2, 2026, the Ore Mountains Rapid youth chess tournament took place in Teplice, which brought not only exciting games for juniors, but also several interesting innovations. The organizer was the Teplice Chess Club, which has been working with youth for a long time and is trying to improve the level of tournaments and the training environment. The first change was the pace! The tournament was played in the 7th round at a pace that meets the standards of world championships, i.e. 15 min. + 10 s. for each move made. This dynamic, but at the same time sufficiently high-quality pace allowed the players to demonstrate not only speed, but also deeper strategic thinking. Thanks to this change, each junior had enough time and it was possible to see even high-quality 70th-move games. The second innovation in the tournament was the use of electronic scorekeepers with the Clono system, thanks to which the players recorded their games digitally. This modern approach was met with a very positive response – there was a great interest in electronic scoring, especially among children and juniors. The tournament thus showed that combining traditional games with technology can be attractive and at the same time beneficial for the further development of players in conjunction with chess analysis in the presence of a coach. The atmosphere of the tournament was also enriched by the presence of chess grandmaster GM Henrik Teske, who actively engaged with the young participants. After the games played, he discussed key moments with them, pointed out mistakes and interesting possibilities, and shared his experiences. For most players, it was an extremely valuable experience – the opportunity to consult with a grandmaster is something that significantly exceeds the usual tournament framework. In addition to the sporting experience, a nice prize fund awaited the participants, with cups and medals for the best players in individual categories. Teplice Chess Club believes that this modern concept – combining a high-quality tournament, technological innovations, and professional guidance – will be developed further. The goal is for young chess players to take away from the events organized by our Teplice Chess Club not only valuable points for FIDE ELO, but also a deeper understanding of the game thanks to the comments of professional coaches. The Ore Mountains Rapid thus confirmed that even a regional tournament can offer juniors and children excellent conditions, an inspiring environment and motivation for further chess growth. After 7 rounds at a pace of 15+10, we witnessed several surprises, significant performance jumps and unexpected drops. The winner Pavel Vaic showed a very balanced and responsible performance. With a gain of 5.5 points and an ELO increase of +46.8, he deservedly won. His stability was key - he managed to collect points even in positions that were not clear-cut. The huge surprise of the tournament was the home team Darien Abrahám, who also gained 5.5 points, but thanks to the auxiliary evaluation finished second. However, his performance was the most impressive in terms of performance – he scored +86.8 ELO, which is an extraordinary result for a seven-round tournament. He confirmed that systematic work at the home club is bearing fruit. Natan Lytvynov, the number one seed and AFM title holder, played a solid 5 points. His performance exactly matched expectations (gain = expected result), which was also reflected in the zero change in ELO. Still, a little more was expected of him in the fight for first place. Radek Vaic confirmed his qualities by gaining 4.5 points and a slight ELO gain. His performance was reliable, although without a significant breakthrough. In the brotherly competition, he defeated his brother Pavel, the tournament winner, in a nice technical finish. Jan Zábranský and Yevhenii Korchak are also worth mentioning – both 4 points, but they both lost over -22 ELO, which indicates that their result was below expectations. Oliver Hybner (4 points), but a slight ELO loss indicates missed opportunities during the tournament. The biggest drop can be attributed to Pravoslav Svoboda, who was seeded as the third strongest player, but finished in 8th place with a gain of 3.5 points. His ELO loss of -43.6 is one of the highest in the tournament and indicates that he did not play very well in the tournament. In the U12 category, Pravoslav won against the home team Šimon Sejpka and Dmitrii Babin. Congratulations to everyone. The entire tournament showed how important the combination of good pace, modern technologies and immediate interpretation by GM Henrik Teske after the game is. The Teplice Chess Club once again confirmed that it is going in the right direction – young players do not only take points and prizes away from Teplice, but above all experience that can fundamentally influence their further chess growth. Krušnohorský rapid přilákal mladé šachisty i velmistra.
V sobotu 2. května 2026 se v Teplicích uskutečnil mládežnický šachový turnaj Krušnohorský rapid, který přinesl nejen napínavé partie juniorů, ale i několik zajímavých novinek. Pořadatelem byl Teplice Chess Club, jenž se dlouhodobě pracuje s mládeží a snaží se posouvat úroveň turnajů i tréninkového prostředí. První změnou bylo tempo! Turnaj se hrál na 7. kol tempem, které odpovídá standardům světových šampionátů tj. 15 min. + 10 s. za každý provedený tah. Toto dynamické, ale zároveň dostatečně kvalitní tempo umožnilo hráčům předvést nejen rychlost, ale i hlubší strategické myšlení. Díky této změně měl každý junior dostatek času a bylo možné vidět i již kvalitní 70. tahové partie. Druhou novinkou v turnaji bylo využití elektronických partiářů se systémem Clono, díky nimž hráči zapisovali své partie digitálně. Tento moderní přístup se setkal s velmi pozitivním ohlasem – zejména mezi dětmi a juniory byl o elektronické zapisování velký zájem. Turnaj tak ukázal, že propojení tradiční hry s technologiemi může být atraktivní a zároveň přínosné pro další rozvoj hráčů ve spojení s šachovou analýzou v přítomnosti trenéra. Atmosféru turnaje navíc obohatila přítomnost šachového velmistra GM Henrika Teskeho, který se aktivně věnoval mladým účastníkům. Po odehraných partiích s nimi rozebíral klíčové momenty, upozorňoval na chyby i zajímavé možnosti a sdílel své zkušenosti. Pro většinu hráčů šlo o mimořádně cennou zkušenost – možnost konzultace s velmistrem je něco, co výrazně přesahuje běžný turnajový rámec. Kromě sportovního zážitku čekal na účastníky také pěkný věcný cenový fond, nechyběly poháry ani medaile pro nejlepší hráče v jednotlivých kategoriích. Teplice Chess Club věří, že se tento moderní koncept – kombinující kvalitní turnaj, technologické novinky a odborné vedení – podaří dále rozvíjet. Cílem je, aby si mladí šachisté z akcí pořádaných naším teplickým klubem (Teplice Chess Club) odnášeli nejen cenné body do FIDE ELO, ale také hlubší porozumění hře díky komentářům profesionálních trenérů. Krušnohorský rapid tak potvrdil, že i regionální turnaj může nabídnout juniorům a dětem skvělé podmínky, inspirativní prostředí a motivaci pro další šachový růst. Po 7 kolech tempem 15+10 jsme byli svědky několika překvapení, výrazných výkonnostních skoků i nečekaných propadů. Vítěz Pavel Vaic předvedl velmi vyrovnaný a zodpovědný výkon. Se ziskem 5,5 bodu a ELO přírůstkem +46,8 zaslouženě zvítězil. Klíčová byla jeho stabilita – dokázal sbírat body i v pozicích, které nebyly jednoznačné. Obrovským překvapením turnaje byl domácí Darien Abrahám, který rovněž získal 5,5 bodu, ale díky pomocnému hodnocení skončil druhý. Přesto se od něj možná čekalo o něco více v boji o první místo. Radek Vaic potvrdil své kvality ziskem 4,5 bodu a mírným ELO ziskem. Jeho výkon byl spolehlivý, i když bez výraznějšího průlomu. V bratrském klání porazil svého bratra Pavla, vítěze turnaje v pěkné technické koncovce. Za zmínku stojí také Jan Zábranský a Yevhenii Korchak – oba 4 body, ale shodně ztratili přes -22 ELO, což naznačuje, že jejich výsledek byl pod očekáváním. Oliver Hybner (4 body), ale mírná ELO ztráta ukazuje na nevyužité šance v průběhu turnaje. Za největší propad lze označit Pravoslava Svobodu, který byl nasazen jako třetí nejsilnější hráč, ale skončil až na 8. místě se ziskem 3,5 bodu. Jeho ELO ztráta -43,6 patří k nejvyšším v turnaji a naznačuje, že se mu turnaj herně příliš nepovedl. V kategorii U12 Pravoslav zvítězil před domácím Šimonem Sejpkou a Dmitrii Babinem. Všem gratulujeme. Celý turnaj ukázal, jak důležité je spojení kvalitního tempa, moderních technologií a okamžitého výkladu GM Henrika Teskeho po partii. Teplický klub Teplice Chess Club (Šachový klub Teplice) tak opět potvrdil, že jde správným směrem – mladí hráči si neodvážejí z Teplic jen body a ceny, ale především zkušenosti, které mohou zásadně ovlivnit jejich další šachový růst.
