👉 Ve dnech 18. – 22. 5. 2025 se ve spolupráci s naší partnerskou organizací Europäische Jugendbildungs- und Jugendbegegnungsstätte Weimar - EJBW uskutečnilo již třetí česko-německé setkání mládeže, tentokrát pod názvem Shared Memory. Historical Awareness of the 20th Century for the Future. 25 studentů z deseti českých středních škol a z německé školy Staatliche Berufsbildende Schule für Gesundheit, Soziales und Sozialpädagogik Gera společně přemýšleli nad složitými tématy 20. století, a to jak událostí směřujících ke druhé světové válce, tak poválečných událostí v Československu i Německé demokratické republice.
Konkrétně jsme si důsledky porušování lidských práv a lidské důstojnosti ukázali na příkladech nacismu a socialismu v Československu a NDR. Společně jsme hledali odpovědi na otázky, co vede jednotlivce k tomu, aby riskovali své životy či ztrátu svobody a proti vystupovali? Máme si tyto etapy historie připomínat a pokud ano, proč?

Během šesti dnů se účastníci setkání seznámili s historií města Výmar, absolvovali přípravu a následnou prohlídku památníku v bývalém KT Buchenwald () a v Památníku a vzdělávacím centru Andreastrasse v Erfurtu (.ettersberg), kde byla vazební věznice německé tajné policie Stasi. Kromě prohlídky expozic i dochovaných vazebních cel jsme besedovali s pamětníkem Mario Obstem, který byl od února 1989 v této věznici zavřen.

👉 From 18–22 May 2025, the third Czech-German youth exchange took place in cooperation with our partner organization, Europäische Jugendbildungs- und Jugendbegegnungsstätte Weimar (EJBW), this time under the title “Shared Memory. Historical Awareness of the 20th Century for the Future.”
A total of 25 students from ten Czech secondary schools and from the German school Staatliche Berufsbildende Schule für Gesundheit, Soziales und Sozialpädagogik Gera reflected together on the complex history of the twentieth century, focusing both on the events that led to the Second World War and on post-war developments in Czechoslovakia and the German Democratic Republic (GDR).
Using the examples of Na**sm and state socialism in Czechoslovakia and the GDR, we explored the consequences of violations of human rights and human dignity. Together, we sought answers to questions such as: What motivates individuals to risk their lives or their freedom in order to resist oppressive regimes? Should we continue to remember and reflect on these periods of history, and if so, why?

During the six-day programme, participants learned about the history of the city of Weimar, took part in preparatory workshops and a guided visit to the memorial site of the former Buchenwald concentration camp, and visited the Andreasstraße Memorial and Education Centre in Erfurt, which is located in a former remand prison operated by the East German secret police, the Stasi. In addition to touring the exhibitions and the preserved prison cells, participants had the opportunity to meet and talk with eyewitness Mario Obst, who had been imprisoned there since February 1989.

The atmosphere throughout the exchange was excellent, and we would like to express our sincere thanks to all participants and partners involved.
