📢 Important Notice: Changes to Czech TV & Radio Licence Fees from May 1, 2025

Starting May 1, 2025, new rules apply for television and radio licence fees in the Czech Republic. These fees fund public broadcasting services and apply per household, not per device.
🔹 TV Licence Fee – CZK 150/month
🔹 Radio Licence Fee – CZK 55/month
🔹 Applies to anyone using a device capable of receiving broadcasts (TV, radio, smartphone, tablet, computer, etc.)
🔹 Registration required within 15 days of acquiring a device or moving in
🔹 Penalties up to CZK 10,000 for non-compliance

⚠️ Exemptions apply to:
Foreigners without permanent or long-term residence in CZ
People with serious vision or hearing disabilities
Low-income households (below 2.15× the minimum standard)

ATTENTION for family members of EU citizens with a paper residence permit

Family members of EU citizens who are third-country nationals must apply to exchange their paper residence permit card for a biometric card.

Paper residence permits expire on 3rd August 2023. Until then, you must apply for a free replacement with a biometric card.
