🇬🇧 On Monday, April 20, a debate with candidates for the Student Chamber of the Academic Senate of MFF UK will take place in lecture hall N1 in Troja.

🇬🇧 On Monday, September 21, a meeting of SKAS was held. Together with invited guests, we discussed the recent training camp in Albeř and plans for future improvements, the upcoming election of the Charles University rector, and ways to enhance SKAS communication with students.

According to preliminary results from a survey SKAS sent to all faculty students, most respondents would like to receive information primarily via email—especially about major study-related changes and faculty-wide updates. New forms of communication were discussed, such as using a Discord platform or possibly creating a mailing list for students with updates from SKAS. SKAS also worked on a new strategy for using existing channels more effectively, as well as considering new media formats such as video tutorials and reports.

The meeting also addressed new restrictions on email clients introduced without prior notice by the CU M365 administrator. Unlike before, when users could access their mailboxes through any client supporting the relevant protocols, the university’s IT department now limits access only to clients with more than 99 users that have passed their verification. SKAS disagrees with this change and demands that access through any email application be restored. We have contacted the responsible officials and will keep students informed of further developments.

The student chamber also asked the faculty leadership to consider allowing students to complete enrollment online, as currently everyone must appear in person at the study office.

Finally, we discussed the issue of extending the validity of physical ISIC cards using stickers. According to the CU IT Committee, the printing of renewal stickers has been discontinued at the request of the international ISIC association, though some schools still offer them. SKAS will continue to look into the possibility of issuing these stickers at Charles University as well.

🇨🇿 Akademický senát MFF dne 24.9. pořádal na zasedání debatu tří kandidátů na rektora UK: prof. .kralickova , prof. a prof. . Řešila se témata jako financování univerzity, SIS a střety zájmů.

Po několikahodinové debatě došlo na hlasování o kvalitě přítomných kandidátů a prof. Mihaljeviče, který o vystoupení nevyjádřil zájem. Stávající rektorka Králíčková získala 7 hlasů pro, 16 proti a 2 se zdrželi. Krištoufek neuspěl o jeden hlas, získal jich 12 pro, 11 proti a 2 se zdrželi, nepřekročil tak nadpoloviční hranici. Ostatní kandidáti rovněž neuspěli, a tedy o nich senát žádné usnesení nepřijal.

Prof. navštívil AS už v červnu a o jeho kvalitě se tehdy senát vyslovil kladně.

Dále následovala diskuse o možné nominaci, při které SKAS jednohlasně vyjádřil podporu prof. Zimovi. Po dalším hlasování (20 pro z 24) pro něj senát odhlasoval formální navržení kandidáta, čímž se stal prvním kandidátem za poslední desítky let, kterého AS MFF takto jasně podpořil.

Rektora bude volit univerzitní akademický senát UK na svém zasedání 31. 10. 2025 dvoukolovým systémem. Bude mu předcházet debata s akademickou obcí 24. 10. 2025, které se můžete účastnit nebo ji sledovat online.
