Engineering Fairground: High Lite Touring Builds a Festival Playground with TAF Truss

The electronic music festival Fairground once again transformed the exhibition halls of Deutsche Messe in Hannover, Germany, into a dynamic indoor festival environment. For the fourth consecutive year, the event brought together thousands of fans and more than 30 international artists across three stages during a single day of performances.

The lineup featured leading names from the global electronic music scene, including Meduza, Charlotte De Witte, Maddix, Amelie Lens, Kalte Liebe, Anfisa Letyago, Angerfist, and D-Sturb, delivering a high-energy program spanning techno, house, and harder styles.

The complete technical production of the festival was delivered by High Lite Touring, whose team managed the entire process from technical planning and engineering to project management, installation, and on-site coordination. The stage concepts were based on designs created by the creative studio VisualPrime, which were translated into complex yet robust technical solutions for the large exhibition halls.

A key element of the production was the extensive truss infrastructure supplied by TAF, utilizing HT33, HT34, and HT44 truss systems. The structures formed the backbone of the stage and lighting rigs across all three stages, supporting the demanding production design and enabling the large-scale visual experience the festival is known for.

In total, the project utilized:
• 2617 meters of truss
• 373 motors
• 3 fully equipped festival stages

We are proud to see High Lite Touring pushing creative and technical boundaries with TAF’s strong truss constructions, and we congratulate the entire team on delivering another outstanding edition of Fairground.

In February, our rigging department took on a demanding logistical and technical challenge. Within a single week, we carried out inspections, maintenance and technical checks on more than 200 chain hoists of various brands, types and load capacities. 🛠️

The entire process was carried out with the utmost care and a strong focus on safety ahead of the upcoming season. All chain hoists have successfully passed inspection performed by qualified technicians and we are now fully prepared for the new season and the expected workload. 💯

During the inspections, calibrated weights were used for testing. 👉 Can you guess how many tons in total we lifted while testing all the chain hoists?

V únoru se naše riggingová sekce poprala s náročným logistickým i technickým úkolem. Během jediného týdne jsme provedli kontrolu, údržbu a technickou revizi více než 200 motorů různých značek, typů i nosností. 🛠️

Celý proces proběhl s maximální pečlivostí a důrazem na bezpečnost před nadcházející sezónou. Všechny motory úspěšně prošly kontrolou provedenou kvalifikovanými revizními techniky a my jsme tak na novou sezónu i očekávané pracovní vytížení plně připraveni. 💯

Při revizích se používalo kalibrované závaží 👉 tipnete si, kolik tun jsme při testování na všech motorech celkem zvedli?
