THEREWITH is a project aligned with the Citizens, Equality, Rights, and Values (CERV) programme, with a primary focus on promoting EU rights and values for people with mobility challenges. The project is vital in addressing the multiple challenges faced by the target group, including accessibility, limited awareness of rights, limited participation in decision-making, and a lack of collaboration w
ith Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). Its main objectives revolve around empowering individuals with mobility challenges, strengthening the role of CSOs, facilitating their engagement in decision-making processes, and fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. THEREWITH will conduct comprehensive research and data collection activities to gain insight into the specific barriers to access encountered by people with mobility challenges in Cyprus. In response, the project will organize customized awareness and empowerment workshops, equipping participants with knowledge about their EU citizenship rights and available support services. Additionally, an advocacy campaign, featuring an online petition and online experts meetings, will be launched to advocate for policy changes and increase awareness of the rights and needs of this group. Collaboration and knowledge exchange will be promoted through these activities, fostering partnerships and cooperation among CSOs. The project will benefit individuals with mobility challenges, also their families, CSOs, policymakers and government authorities, the general public, and stakeholders. As the applicant project promoter, OPAK (Cyprus Paraplegic Organization) will ensure that the project effectively reaches all target groups and maximizes its impact. OPAK will be responsible for project planning, coordination, research, delivering tailored workshops, advocating for policy changes, and monitoring and evaluation activities. With their expertise and dedication, OPAK will secure the overall success, dissemination, and long-term sustainability of the project.
