On 14th November 2025, Cyprus has enacted a new legislative framework for the screening of foreign direct investments (FDI), implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/452. The Law on the Establishment of a Framework for the Screening of Foreign Direct Investments, Law of 2025, which enters into force on 2 April 2026, introduces a mandatory notification and approval system for certain investments by non-EU/EEA/Swiss investors in enterprises considered strategically important to national security or public order.

What You Will Be Assisting the Team with:

• Drafting and reviewing agreements and other documents;
• Conducting legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents;
• Drafting legal memorandums and legal opinions;
• Drafting court petitions/applications pursuant to the Companies Law Cap.113;
• Undertaking legal due diligence of Cyprus companies;
• Drafting and reviewing company resolutions;
• Providing assistance in immovable property transactions;
• Liaising with local, regulatory and other supervisory authorities;
• Carrying out compliance work including the reviewing and updating of the companies’ KYC files and the corresponding software;
• Assisting the team with compliance and administrative work; and
• Assisting on the efficient management of workflow of the team.

About You:

• At least 2 years of corporate and commercial law experience;
• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB);
• Cyprus Bar Association qualified;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English;
• Excellent time management, administrative and organizational skills;
• Strong team orientation, ability to work collaboratively in a team setting;
• Character Integrity, Confidentiality and Professionalism;
• Computer Literate (Microsoft Office).

📢 Cyprus Company Certificates Go Digital – A Long-Awaited Step Forward

💪 After years of navigating paper-based processes and manual certification, Cyprus has officially taken a bold step into the digital era of corporate administration. On 25 July and 19 September 2025, a long-awaited package of legislative reforms was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic, marking a major transformation in how the Department of Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property issues corporate certificates and certificates of entries.

✅️ This reform introduces a modern, simplified, and secure framework for issuing 64 newly designed types of documents (24 certificates and 40 certificates of entries) covering companies, partnerships, foreign entities, European companies (SEs), EEIGs, and business names.

📌Some of the most notable changes:
- Full electronic issuance and delivery - no more queuing at the Registrar’s office.
- Bilingual documents (Greek & English) - ready for cross-border use.
- Introduction of new types of certificates and certificates of entry - meeting modern business requirements.
- Adoption of the Department’s electronic seal - ensuring the authenticity of documents and information contained.
- Electronic seal & QR code - ensuring document authenticity and instant online verification.

✅️ These changes are expected to reduce processing time, boost international business confidence, and make Cyprus a more attractive jurisdiction for corporate activity. The new legislative framework and updated certificates will be implemented following an official notification from the Registrar of Companies, which will be published in the Official Gazette in due course.
