OTROS OJOS

We are taking moment to revel in what is the same right now — strong sweet coffee, the neighborhood trumpet player doing his morning warm ups, the sun beating down and casting shadows. So much has changed in all our lives this past week. We canceled the last two trips of our season on Thursday and yesterday all cultural venues in Cuba were closed as a precautionary measure. It breaks our heart to not be gathering our magical trips together, but this is what is called for at the moment. Take care of yourselves. Practice small acts of creativity. Dance in your kitchens. May this time make us all more aware of what we love and value. We will see you all so soon in our special corner of the world. 🌿✨☕️

We got coffee with one of our future travelers today who is coming on our March 20-27 trip. Over the past few months, she made a list of what she wanted from her perfect vacation, then she read about us... Turns out we fit the bill perfectly. We’re still digesting the two magical back to back trips / retreats we hosted in the last half of January. This photo begins to describe all the connection, art and vibrancy we shared together. Taken just a few nights ago, around midnight, after a private Latin fusion jazz concert with our travelers and community... we managed to capture an artist, violinist, guitarist, writer, professor and two traveler/writer/ entrepreneurs in one shot. What an incredible collection of souls we shared time with these past few weeks! ✨🎶

Chicagoans! Save the date for Feb 7. We are coming back from Havana and popping up in the incredible TimeOut Market with flavors of Cuban art and music. Diageo will be mixing Cuban inspired cocktails, Purple Pig will make Cuban sandwiches and we’ll have sets of live music, an art studio and an atmosphere to take you to out of the cold and to creative Havana.
