There is a kind of pain that disguises itself as love. It does not arrive as something obviously harmful. It arrives as something meaningful, something that opens you, something that feels like it reaches into a place you did not even know was still alive.

It comes through a moment, a connection, a shared energy that feels so real it imprints on your body like it belongs there. And for a time, it does. You feel more open, more present, more like yourself than you have in a long time.

You access a version of you that had been buried under years of surviving, adapting, and holding everything together. And that part of you feels like truth. It feels like something you do not want to lose.

But then something shifts.

It changes, it pulls away, or it breaks in a way you were not prepared for. And what you are left with is not just the absence of the person or the connection, but the absence of how you felt within it.

So the mind begins to reach.

Not only for them, but for that version of you. The one that felt alive, open, and fully present. And without realizing it, the focus turns outward. If I can get that back, I can feel that way again.

This is where the cycle begins.

You start chasing the person, the feeling, or the memory. You tell yourself that if you heal more, wait longer, or show up differently, something will return to the way it was. But over time, what you are reaching for begins to create more pain than presence.

And this is the moment that matters.

Because nothing is wrong with you.

You are not holding on because you are weak. You are holding on because something in that experience was real. It touched something true inside of you.

But what your soul begins to recognize is that the version of love that requires you to stay in pain, confusion, or imbalance is not the version meant to sustain you.

Growth does not always feel like clarity. Sometimes it feels like the slow realization that what once opened you is no longer aligned with who you are becoming.

So the invitation is not to shut down the feeling.

It is to turn toward it.

To recognize that what you experienced did not come from outside of you. It was activated within you. And anything that can be activated can be accessed again, without losing yourself in the process.

You are not meant to keep chasing what hurts.

You are meant to come back to the part of you that felt alive, and learn how to hold that without attaching it to someone else.

Let the ache be there without building a story around it. Let the memory exist without turning it into something you need to return to. And when you are ready, allow yourself to step out of the cycle instead of trying to complete it.

Because the moment you stop chasing what hurts, you create space for something that can actually hold you.
