proudly announces the first clinical use of the ™ Sirolimus-Coated Coronary Balloon Catheter in Hong Kong, China.

🎯 This meaningful step forward in the regional adoption of our coronary drug-coated balloon therapy for complex calcified coronary lesions was successfully performed at United Christian Hospital by Dr. Dennis Chow Hiu Cheong and Dr. Anthony Wong Siu Fung, further strengthening MicroPort’s comprehensive portfolio in coronary intervention.

The 86-year-old NSTEMI patient with a history of cured colon cancer presented with a severely calcified LAD lesion accompanied with multiple coronary aneurysms. Given the patient’s prior history of per-rectal bleeding during DAPT, drug-coated balloon therapy was considered more appropriate than drug-eluting stent implantation. Following careful procedural planning, lesion preparation was initially performed using rotational atherectomy for the calcified LAD lesion. This was followed by further lesion preparation with cutting balloons and non-compliant balloons, without evidence of vessel recoil. OCT was subsequently used to assess lesion preparation, confirming an adequate lumen area suitable for DCB therapy. Firelimus™ Sirolimus-Coated Coronary Balloon Catheter of 2.5 mm×35 mm and 3.5 mm×35 mm were then deployed to treat the mid-distal and proximal segments of the LAD. Final angiography demonstrated TIMI grade 3 flow, and the procedure was concluded successfully.

✅ The newly launched Firelimus™ Sirolimus-Coated Coronary Balloon Catheter incorporates the patented MicroCrystalute™ coating technology, enabling rapid transfer of pure Sirolimus to the vessel wall with tissue retention over 28 days, while its excipient-free drug coating reduces vascular inflammation hypersensitivity reactions and offers a full-diameter portfolio with 40 mm length options to meet diverse clinical needs.

We value our collaboration with United Christian Hospital and extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Dennis Chow Hiu Cheong, Dr Anthony Wong Siu Fung and their team for exemplary clinical expertise, masterful skills, and unwavering commitment to patient care. In the future, MicroPort will continue to accelerate the clinical adoption and broad availability of our innovative products, enabling more patients to achieve hashtag .
