Dianchi Lake, also called Mother Lake by Kunming people, is known as the " Pearl of the Plateau".
Dianchi Lake is located in the southwest of Kunming City in Yunnan Province and is the birthplace of Yunnan culture. Dianchi Lake, with an elevation of 1886 meters and an area of 330 square kilometers, is the largest freshwater lake in Yunnan Province and the sixth largest freshwater lake in China. Dianchi Lake Basin covers an area of 2920 square kilometers with an average water depth of 5 meters.
Dianchi Lake's most distinctive feature is her beauty. In recent years, 27000 square kilometers of lakeside ecological wetland has been built around Dianchi Lake.
