ra-curricular activities. We embrace a global perspective that synergizes our local curriculum with the Cambridge curriculum thus giving our learners opportunities to appreciate and study global dimensions and issues right in their classrooms. Emphasis is placed on their cultures and that of the host country, but with this multicultural approach, they also learn to appreciate the diversity that the world has to offer and are enriched by a wide range of ideas and views. OUR PHILOSOPHY
We believe that education is the reorganization and reconstruction of life experiences. This means that an individual should be able to think critically, analyze situations in their personal life and in the society, be an active member in the society and be able to bring about change and reform. This must begin at an early age. We believe that schools should be used as agents of change in the society. By giving students appropriate educational experiences, DISAS creates a better life for her students and thus for the society. Our tasks include providing:
1. Intellectual Attainment: Educational experience focused on intellectual knowledge and growth that are relevant to our learners. We facilitate their acquisition of skills in critical thinking, analytical thinking and problem solving, thereby preparing them for leadership.
2. Citizenship: Commitment to basic national values and social skills leading to the ability to make rational decisions, and to be socially acceptable and good citizens. Students develop high self esteem and confidence, initiative and independence.
3. Vocational preparation: Children start preparing for the work place from an early age in order to be competent in a constantly changing society. Our Children learn from an early age the importance of being self-sufficient. They develop skills needed for lifelong learning.
4. Individual development: Using each child’s individual unique skills we maximize their individual potential by providing varied instructional and assessment techniques/strategies which teach social skills as well as improve academic potential. Each child succeeds by setting achievable goals that meet and yet challenge their needs.
