𝘼 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙨𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣.

On Friday, 9 October 2026, Gracious Gifters Foundation joined other organizations and individuals in Buea to walk against femicide and stand in solidarity with women and girls whose lives have been taken by gender-based violence.

This walk was a call for justice, a voice for those who can no longer speak, and a reminder that every woman and girl deserves to live in safety, dignity and peace.

The urgency is clear. Official figures reported by the BBC recorded 77 women killed in Cameroon in 2025, and at least 50 more between January and April 2026 (https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cgjq49g8wwqo)

The country’s 2018 Demographic and Health Survey found that more than four in ten ever-married women aged 15–49 had experienced emotional, physical or sexual violence from a current or most recent spouse (https://dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/SR266/SR266.pdf) Cameroon 2018 DHS Summary Report, p. 16).

These figures reflect different forms of violence and different time periods, but each points to the need for urgent, sustained action.

Femicide is not just a statistic. It is a life cut short, a family left grieving and a future stolen. We remember every woman and girl whose life has been lost, and we stand with survivors and families seeking justice.

Gracious Gifters Foundation remains committed to ending femicide and all forms of gender-based violence. We will continue to speak out, raise awareness, challenge harmful attitudes, support safer communities and call for accountability.
Ending violence requires all of us to act, not only after a tragedy, but every day.

Every woman and girl deserves to live. Every life matters. Together, let us build a Cameroon where safety, dignity and justice are not privileges, but realities for all.

THE GIRL CHILD DESERVES A FUTURE FREE FROM CHILD MARRIAGE!

What happens when a girl is forced into marriage before she is ready to dream, learn, grow, and make decisions about her own future?

Her childhood is disrupted. Her opportunities are limited. Her rights are put at risk.

This International Day of the Girl Child 2026, Gracious Gifters Foundation joins the global call to End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls’ Rights!

Every girl deserves the opportunity to stay in school, access quality healthcare, make informed decisions about her future, and grow up in a safe and supportive environment.

Ending child marriage requires more than words. It calls for collective action, community awareness, access to education, protection of girls’ rights, and investment in their potential.

💜A girl is not a bride. She is a child with dreams, rights, and a future worth protecting.

At Gracious Gifters Foundation, we believe that when we protect girls and invest in their potential, we contribute to building stronger, healthier, and more equitable communities.

This October 11, let us raise our voices, challenge harmful practices, and commit to creating a world where every girl can enjoy her childhood and shape her own future.
