elopment Society (ABCDS), offering educational measures and vocational trainings. The pre-school project BAL KRRITI under the umbrella of ABCDS was founded in 2007 by Regula Willi. It provides children with quality education free of cost at A.B.S. School in Moti Nagar. The lessons in Hindi, English, Maths, Music and Arts and Crafts use creative teaching methods to hold the attention of the children and increase their joy of learning. The children are encouraged to discover their own talents.To improve the didactical abilities of the teachers and maintain the creativity of the lessons, regular teacher trainings are being carried out. Volunteers stay in the project area for a duration of several months, concentrating particularly on the skill development of the teachers. Apart from the annual enrolment of the BAL KRRITI children, the school fees of 50 more children from socially disadvantaged families are being provided. The vocational training programme SHAKTI was started for poor women in the area, providing them with skills to generate income opportunities and increasing their self-confidence. Initiatives also include regular medical check-ups, different workshops to inform about legal access, especially with regard to women’s rights, as well as camps on health issues and environment.
