مع إشراقة هذا الصباح المبارك يحلّ العيد، ومعه واحدة من أكثر المناسبات معنىً في العام، للأصدقاء والشركاء والمجتمعات في الخليج وما وراءه.

عيد الأضحى، في جوهره، عيد الأمانة وحُسن الرعاية (stewardship) — أن نُكرّم ما اؤتُمنّا عليه، وأن نكون واعين بما نختار أن نصنعه به. أجد هذه الفكرة قريبةً جداً من العمل الذي كرّستُ له حياتي.

على مدى خمسة وعشرين عاماً في الضيافة فائقة الفخامة، واليوم في بناء D1972 Hotels & Resorts، أصبحتُ مؤمناً بأن أرقى الأصول التراثية لا تُمتلك حقاً أبداً. إنها أمانة — يحملها جيلٌ نيابةً عن الجيل الذي يليه. ومهمّتنا ليست أن نمتلكها، بل أن نكون لها حُرّاساً جديرين: نصون روحها، ونعيد إليها كرامتها، ونتركها باقيةً للأجيال.

الوحدة. التأمل. الأمانة. هذه قيم هذا الموسم، وهي القيم التي أريدها أساساً لكل ما نبنيه.

إلى كل من يحتفل — وإلى الشركاء في أبوظبي والخليج الأوسع وموطنينا المتوسطي والألبي الذين يجعلون هذا العمل ممكناً — أتمنى لكم ولعائلاتكم السلام والبركة وعيداً مباركاً.

Eid al-Adha Mubarak.

This morning the crescent has been sighted and Eid is here, bringing with it one of the most meaningful occasions of the year for friends, partners and communities across the Gulf and well beyond it.

At its heart, Eid al-Adha is a festival of stewardship — of honouring what has been entrusted to us, and being deliberate about what we choose to do with it. I find that idea sits very close to the work I have given my life to.

For twenty-five years in ultra-luxury hospitality, and now in building D1972 Hotels & Resorts, I have come to believe that the finest heritage assets are never truly owned. They are held in trust — by one generation, on behalf of the next. Our task is not to possess them, but to be worthy custodians: to protect their soul, restore their dignity, and let them endure.

Unity. Reflection. Stewardship. These are the values of this season, and they are the values I want at the foundation of everything we are creating.

To all who observe — and to the partners across Abu Dhabi, the wider Gulf and our Mediterranean and Alpine homelands who make this work possible — I wish you and your families peace, abundance and a blessed Eid.
