In November 2025, the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (GNAMC) in Rome acquired Philippe Cramer’s sculpture, Aeternus Eternus II (left twist), for its permanent collection. The purchase was funded by the Geneva-based Haute Horology F.P.Journe Manufacture.

The artwork has been placed in the Calder room, below an Alexander Calder mobile and next to amazing Giacometti sculptures and Fontana paintings, in the room dedicated to kinetic art.

Aeternus Eternus II (2025) is a sculpture and functional piece. Its design, reminiscent of a Möbius strip, reflects Cramer’s interest in public art and evokes eternity (the meaning of its Latin title) through the technical shaping of an ancient stone mass.

The GNAMC, founded in 1883, showcases 20,000 works of Italian and international art, spanning from Neoclassicism to contemporary movements. The collection includes prominent artists such as Canova, Modigliani, Klimt, Van Gogh, and Warhol.

F.P.Journe has a decade-long history of supporting museum institutions, aligning with its values of Authenticity, Rarity, and Talent (A.R.T.). This patronage enabled the Aeternus Eternus II artwork to join the GNAMC, confirming the Manufacture’s commitment to contemporary creation.

Exposition Infiltration: Parc de sculptures

Objet Stellaire: Venusian
Philippe Cramer
2025

Philippe Cramer : Sculptures
5 May - 12 October 2025

Château Saint-Martin & Spa
2490 Avenue des Templiers
06140 Vence
France

From 5 May to 12 October 2025, Château Saint-Martin, located in the South of France, showcases three sculptures by Philippe Cramer in its gardens.

This is the Geneva-based artist’s first solo exhibition in France, inviting visitors to engage in a dialogue between contemporary art and nature.

Each sculpture offers a contemporary meditation, exploring the interplay between time, spirituality and materiality.

Philippe Cramer said: “With these sculptures, I invite visitors to slow down, to contemplate the cycle of life, and to enter into resonance with the materials and symbols.”

AETERNUS ETERNUS: TOTEMIC

Black Zimbabwe granite
Dimensions: 44 x 44 x ht.180 cm
Edition: 5 + 2 artist proofs
Signed, dated and numbered

A totem made of Black Zimbabwe granite; this work stands like a gateway between the terrestrial and the cosmic. Its ascending loop suggests a continuous permutation of forms, in a physical and sensory experience of time.
