🌟 Exciting news from the world of medical technology! 🌟

I am glad to share the remarkable study of Lara Veronesi and Bilal Msallem, co-first authors of a pioneering study on - , published by the Swiss MAM Research Group at the Universität Basel. Their research evaluates the dimensional accuracy of laser osteotomies in reconstructive surgery, a critical step forward in precision medicine. 🤖🔬

This cutting-edge technique, which utilizes the ® system (Cold Ablation Robot-guided Laser Osteotome), holds immense potential to revolutionize surgical outcomes through its ability to increase precision and reduce operative times. Lara and Bilal's contributions are pushing the boundaries of digital workflow in surgical procedures, promising better patient-specific treatments.

Let's congratulate Lara and Bilal (and the co-authors) on their outstanding work, paving the way for future advancements in surgery in - and - . 👏🎉

Another week has come to an end by the successful participation of the Swiss MAM in the Symposium for 3D Printing for Life Sciences at Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW in Basel.

Our Head: Florian Thieringer and deputy head: Philip Honigmann led the 3D Print @ hospital session. We had the pleasure to present more than one of our projects. Where our group member Marco Keller presented his work on ‘’In-hospital additive manufactured individualized splints for conservative treatment of distal radius fractures’’.

Our post-doctoral researcher and group member Neha Sharma with the Stefan Leonhardt from Kumovis demonstrated her work on ‘’Patient-specific implant manufacturing at the point of care – chances and challenges’’.

The event created a great environment for stakeholders and researchers from pharmaceutical and medical device industry as well as interested clinicians to exchange themselves with dedicated experts in 3D printing.
