Our toddlers combined two of their favourite things, sensory play and construction vehicles, creating a busy little worksite full of digging, scooping, dumping and exploring.

As children worked together to move the soil and navigate their trucks through the mud, they strengthened their fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination and problem-solving abilities. The shared experience also encouraged communication, cooperation and imaginative play as they discussed their plans and worked alongside their friends.

Sometimes the simplest invitations to play create the richest opportunities for learning, connection and fun. 🚜🛻🤎

Our Kindergarten children recently attended the National Sorry Day Gathering at Kalinga Park, hosted by the Noonga Reconciliation Group. This meaningful event provided an opportunity to acknowledge the strength and resilience of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on the importance of healing, respect and reconciliation.

Throughout the day, the children engaged in a range of cultural and nature-based experiences, explored creative displays and viewed artwork created by community members. They were especially proud to contribute their own collaborative art piece, which was displayed as part of the Gathering.

Experiences such as these help children develop an understanding of belonging, respect and connection to community while learning about the histories and cultures that shape our shared future.

A heartfelt thank you to the Noonga Reconciliation Group for continuing to create such an important and meaningful event for our community. 🖤💛❤️💚💙

🌳🔍🐦 Winter mornings at the park are full of adventure and discovery!

Our children loved exploring the natural world around them as they climbed trees, searched for bugs and used binoculars to spot birds hiding amongst the branches. Every stick, leaf and tree became an opportunity for investigation, imagination and play.

These outdoor experiences help children build confidence, coordination and problem-solving skills while developing a deeper connection with nature. Through exploration and curiosity, children learn about their environment in meaningful and memorable ways.

There is always something exciting to discover when nature becomes the classroom. 💚🍃✨

🐄🐑🌿 Mud, mess and farmyard fun!

Our children had a wonderful time exploring a farm-themed sensory experience, complete with muddy puddles, animal figurines and plenty of hands-on discovery. As they mixed, poured, squished and searched through the muddy water, they created their own stories and adventures for the animals.

Sensory play like this encourages curiosity, imagination and problem-solving while supporting fine motor development and language skills. Most importantly, it gives children the freedom to explore, experiment and fully immerse themselves in the joy of messy play.

Sometimes the best learning happens when little hands get wonderfully muddy! 💛🐖🐴✨

🔨🪵 Little builders at work!

Our children have been busy exploring woodworking alongside one of our wonderful community members, learning how to safely use real tools to create their own wooden creations.

With guidance and encouragement, the children practised hammering nails, assembling pieces, decorating their designs, and bringing their ideas to life.

Woodworking experiences like these help children develop concentration, problem-solving skills, hand-eye coordination, persistence, and confidence. There was a real sense of pride as each child watched their project take shape, making decisions about how to build and personalise their creation.

We love providing opportunities for children to take on meaningful challenges, learn new skills, and experience the satisfaction that comes from creating something with their own hands 🪚✨💛.

Coming up this month is the Noonga Reconciliation Group’s National Sorry Day Gathering — a very special event for our Three Peas community, and one we are always grateful to be invited to participate in.

This week, our Family Room children headed out on a community walk to hand deliver flyers to our wonderful neighbours and help spread the word about the gathering.

The children were so excited posting the invitations into letterboxes, greeting familiar faces along the way, and feeling proud to contribute to something meaningful within their community.

Experiences like these help children build a strong sense of belonging, connection, and understanding of the world around them. They also create opportunities to talk about kindness, community, and the importance of coming together to acknowledge and reflect on our shared history ❤️💛🖤

Our Toddlers had been showing so much interest in the Family Room’s ongoing art project that they decided to create one of their very own 🎨✨

This evolving creative space has become a place the children can return to throughout the day, freely expressing themselves through colour, mark making, and different artistic styles.

With every visit, new layers of creativity are added, turning the artwork into a collaborative piece that grows alongside the children’s ideas and imaginations.

Experiences like this help foster creativity, confidence, autonomy, and self-expression, while also encouraging the children to explore materials in their own unique way.

We can’t wait to watch this special project continue to develop over the coming weeks

Last week we welcomed our beautiful Mothers, Grandmothers, and special Mother figures into Three Peas for a morning filled with connection, laughter, and quality time together 💐

The children loved sharing their favourite spaces, inviting their loved ones into play, creating artwork together, digging in the sandpit, and simply enjoying those quiet little moments side by side.

From painting and drawing to imaginative play and shared morning tea, the centre was filled with warmth and happy conversations all morning long.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special.

We hope all of our amazing families had a wonderful Mother’s Day celebration surrounded by love 💛

🚓👮 A very exciting visit rolled into Three Peas this week as the children had the chance to explore a real police car and meet some friendly police officers!

There were lots of curious questions, big smiles, and plenty of excitement as the children explored the police vehicle, learned about staying safe in the community, and even had a turn sitting in the driver’s seat.

Hearing the sirens, seeing the lights up close, and learning about the important role police officers play sparked so many wonderful conversations throughout the day.

Experiences like these help children build confidence in their community helpers while encouraging curiosity, communication, and imaginative play. Safe to say the police car was a very popular stop for the day! 🚔✨

This week our Toddlers were busy caring for their baby dolls and feeding them their breakfast.

Role play is an activity that invites toddlers to take on different roles and act out social scenarios, which fosters creativity, critical thinking, empathy and patience.
