We facilitate rapid, positive improvement in individuals and groups through functional training, nutrition education and play, both online and in person, in some of the world’s most amazing destinations. It’s a shout used in the bush of Australia, to attract attention, find missing people, or indicate one’s own location. When done correctly—loudly and shrilly—a call of “cooee” can carry over a con
siderable distance and can be a matter of competitive pride. The call resonated with us for our business name back in Aspen, Colorado, in 2007 when we wished to differentiate our property management services business as being the one run by “that Aussie bloke” (aka Match Murphy). And when we moved from Colorado to Perth, Western Australia, in 2010 to establish our CrossFit gym, it seemed only befitting that we pack up the name and take it with us to form the foundations of Cooee CrossFit in Perth’s western suburbs. This was also when we gave the Cooee name an identity, the green in the logo representing the vitality of spring Aspen leaves, and the blue the vibrant, crystal waters of Perth’s Indian Ocean.
7 years later and Cooee has rebranded to CooeeFIT. Based in Bali, Indonesia, for 6 months of the year, the mountains of Niseko, Japan, for 4 months, and exploring the world for future fitness escape locations in between. Combining all of our experiences and coaching skills from the past 45 years combined, we now help people transform their health and fitness both online and in person, in some of the world’s most beautiful locations.
