Last Sunday I found out I was nominated & the recipient for a Black History Manitoba Community award. Yesterday evening, I accepted the award at the 2026 Black History Month Closing Ceremony & Awards Banquet.

I was awarded the The Entertainment / Music Award which celebrates a person or band whose exceptional talent and artistry in music not only demonstrates distinction in their craft but also inspire and uplift those who experience their work. Above all, this individual or group enriches the community by bringing joy, connection, and memorable moments through their gifts. Many told me yesterday that this was a well-deserved recognition. 🥹

I’m so grateful, it means so much that I have an impact on my community by simply being true to what I love, music. Thanks for being a part of my journey. ♥️

It’s a live performance series that I’m starting over on my YouTube channel. More sessions coming soon featuring a local artist for each episode… and possibly including intimate style concerts. Stay tuneeed🤭

Episode one was recorded at in the exact same room where INGIA was first recorded. A full 360 moment with an incredible band and people!!

Episode one is live now. Link in my bio and be sure to subscribe for more.🤍

New year, New photos ✨

Starting fresh on Facebook with a new page so let me introduce myself, I’m INGIA 🤍

Music has always been in my life I started singing when I was really young, then picked up the clarinet and then the saxophone shortly after. Along the way, I found my love for certain genres and the endless possibilities of what you can do with music… and that curiosity turned into this path I’ve been discovering.

I’m a vocalist, saxophonist & composer. I am a Desautels Faculty of Music (university of Manitoba) 2023 grad. By day, I’m a full-time administrative assistant and I’m also an independent freelance artist. Now I am an aspiring law student with dreams of working in entertainment law.

When I’m not creating, I love checking out new food spots around Winnipeg, hosting things with friends, and sharing my deep love of music with others.

I’m also the founder of HERitage, a community initiative creating space for Black, POC women & underrepresented voices in the arts 🌸

Feel free to check out my website + all other links in my bio or at ingiamusic.com.

Thanks for being here and tell a friend to give me a follow🫶🏾
