RRC Polytech hosted the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) Advanced Manufacturing Summit, bringing together manufacturers, educators, exporters and industry leaders from across Canada to explore innovation, workforce development and the future of manufacturing.

Attendees heard from industry experts on Canada's manufacturing future, technology adoption and the importance of continuous learning, while tours and panel discussions highlighted the innovative work happening at RRC Polytech.

The event also showcased how RRC Polytech is responding to industry needs through education, applied research and partnerships. A key example being the recent launch of two new Bachelor of Technology degrees through the Price Institute of Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics, helping learners gain the skills needed for Industry 4.0 and today's evolving workforce.

The summit reinforced Manitoba's reputation as a diverse and resilient manufacturing hub and demonstrated the power of collaboration between industry and education to build the workforce of tomorrow.

On Friday, October 30, RRC Polytech will honour Social Indigenous Entrepreneurship grad Sean Rayland-Boubar with the 2026 Distinguished Graduate Award.

As founder of Indigenous-led streetwear brand Red Rebel Armour, Sean creates employment opportunities for people facing barriers, including those transitioning out of incarceration. His culturally safe workplace helps people build skills, confidence and stability.

Through entrepreneurship and mentorship, Sean draws on his lived experiences to inspire Indigenous entrepreneurs and young people, showing what’s possible through culture, community and purpose.
