n though I had all of this knowledge and experience, gaining weight and feeling helpless about how to lose it all still happened to me. Not only was I overweight but I also no longer felt comfortable playing with my boys, nor did I have the strength to do so or even do some simple things around the house. I was easily winded and had trouble stepping up on a stool to reach my upper cabinets!! My confidence was also very low, I didn't want to be in photos, go out or even dance-something I always used to love doing. Now throughout it all I did go to the gym, I did try a few diets, I did go for so many walks and I hit 10,000 daily steps long before it was popular to do so. I was missing something. After my last child I was at my highest weight of 220 lbs. This may not sound like a lot, but I am 5'6" and should be about 140 lbs. I did manage to walk some of it off as mentioned earlier, but then by 2014 it was creeping back up again. When I hit 215 lbs again, it was time to to take serious action. I had been introduced to Beachbody by a long time friend and art mentor a few months before I hit my wall. I had declined her offer. But she never gave up on me and when I needed a change she was there for me to start my home program. I love my coach!! Beachbody gave my life a new direction. At first it was all about losing the weight and gaining my strength back. The structured nutrition program was exactly what I needed and the home workouts suited my budget and my comfort zone. But then I noticed other changes, like my self-confidence! A journey that had begun as simply a means to lose weight had become so much more. I had discovered that by working hard a mere 30 minutes every day in the comfort of my home and changing my eating habits not only did I lose several pounds but I gained a new life with a new direction and purpose.
