Before you buy a bathtub, ask yourself this one question.

How will you actually use it?

Will it be for soaking?Bathing children? Or is it simply part of the overall design?

Freestanding or built-in?

But that’s only the beginning.
The overall dimensions don’t tell the whole story.
✔️ A taller tub doesn’t always mean a deeper soak.
✔️ Jumping from a 60” to a 66” tub doesn’t necessarily give you 6” more interior room.
✔️ The backrest angle can completely change how comfortable a tub feels.
✔️ Overall height affects how easy it is to get in and out.

Once you know what your priorities are, the measurements become much more meaningful.

I always look beyond the overall dimensions and compare:
1• Exterior length and width should be your first priority, to be sure it will fit in your space when planning.
2• Water depth (Very Important if a deep soak is what you are after)
3• Backrest angle
4• Overall exterior height if you have limitations stepping over the tub.
5. Interior length and width specifically the base, where you sit.

The best design decisions happen during the planning stage—when you’ve taken the time to understand your needs before making a purchase.

When choosing a bathtub, what’s your biggest priority—deep soaking, comfort, style, or ease of getting in and out?
