Spanish in Durham

Due to the current situation, all our classes will be conducted online until further notice. Please bear with us, as we are coordinating efforts to help our teachers and students with this transition.

Hola! Our next group session starts after Easter weekend and private sessions can start at any time. Here are some updates:

Coronavirus update:
- We do have online capability, so if you do not feel comfortable attending our in-person classes please let us know and we will send you a link to attend your class via remote.
- For private tutoring only: Cancellation policy of 24-hour notice still applies for adults 18+ (10 am same day for children). Please note, if you cancel more than 2 weeks in a row, you will forfeit your lesson time (no refunds provided). This is out of respect to the teachers.

If you or your child feels unwell, please do let us know! On a personal note, a member of my family is in the vulnerable sector and I need to take precautions.

🤓¿SABÍAS QUE…National Geographic considera a Barcelona la "mejor ciudad de playa" del mundo, pero sus playas no se utilizaron para vacacionar hasta 1992?

➡️ Hoy hay siete playas con un total de 4,5 km de costa, pero antes de 1992, la costa de Barcelona estaba completamente atropellada por las industrias, y no existía playa para el uso de la población y el turismo de la ciudad.

➡️ No fue hasta la remodelación de la ciudad para los Juegos Olímpicos de 1992 que la ciudad trasladó sus industrias y convirtió la zona costera en una zona de recreación ejemplar para locales y turistas por igual; incluyendo la mejora de dos playas y la creación de cinco nuevas playas.

🤓Did you know that Barcelona is considered the “best beach city” in the world by National Geographic, but their beaches weren’t used for leisure until 1992?

➡️Today there are seven beaches with a total of 4.5 km of coastline, but before 1992, Barcelona’s seaside was completely run over by industries, and there existed no beach for the use of the city’s populace and tourism.

➡️It wasn’t until the city’s redevelopment for the 1992 Olympic Games that the city moved their industries and converted the seaside area into an exemplary leisure area for locals and tourists alike; including the improvement of two beaches and the creation of five new beaches.
