Durham Region is under a Yellow Level Extended Heat Warning, which is expected to continue into this evening (Wed. July 15) and may continue into Thurs. July 16.🌡️

Durham Region is also experiencing very poor air quality due to wildfires in northwestern Ontario.

Check your local weather forecasts, plan your activities during cooler parts of the day, and avoid going outside when the air quality is poor.

Notice of Pesticide Use 📢
Between May and Oct. 2026 the Health Department will conduct surveillance and larviciding activities to control West Nile virus (WNV).

This includes weekly adult mosquito-trapping, dipping surface water sites to look for WNV vector mosquitoes, larviciding catch basins and stagnant surface water.
