Happy Easter everyone!
Not a traditional animal representing Easter but definitely the spring. We found 3 squirrels under our solar panels (not a good choice) and they were so grey, cold, lifeless, that one would guess they were dead and burry them but it would not be me if I did not have some hope and faith, so I held these babies on my palm (they all could fit in how tiny they were) and kept warming them up. In about 10 minutes, I saw a little movement and eventually they all started to move and their skin turned to pink again!
We were so happy!
We tried to return them to their Mom but unsuccessfully and it was so cold outside that we had to use a warming pad and turn them like sausages because they cannot produce their own heat and using just a blanket would not do anything. So we found them a new Mom Lacey from a Rescue station who had the right milk and everything they need to survive. She also had to wake up every 2 hours to feed them. My daughter did that with little mice years ago too.
Thank goodness for people with big hearts and love for nature!
So squirrel babies are growing and have each other for company.
This rescue station is happy for any blankets, towels, money or any support to keep saving animals in need. Located in Kitchener.
