Over the last year, I’ve stopped offering individual training sessions to people I haven’t already worked with.

Why?

Because they’re not effective.

More often than not, I found people would book a single session, and go home disappointed that it didn’t fix all their training problems. We live in a world where convenience is key, and want to solve challenges as quickly and easily as possible. Unfortunately, that’s not the same world our dogs live in.

Although multi-session packages may cost more up front than individual sessions or group classes, they are more budget friendly and cost effective over time, and are more likely to lead to long term results. Not only that, but it gives time for building trust, ensuring your dog is ready before moving on to next steps, and makes room for troubleshooting and refining things that aren’t working quite right.

The added bonus to our private programs is that your sessions are valid for a year after your last scheduled session. That means if you need more time to practice, need to take a break, or life circumstances get in the way, you have time to do whatever you need before jumping back in. Plus, once you finish your package, you will have the option to schedule individual sessions to help brush up on anything that pops up later or for a refresh. Many of our 6 session private packages now also include access to discounts on walking services and group classes!

Looking for something fun to do with your dog? Check out one of our workshops!

These one hour programs cover a specific topic, providing you with an in-depth look at how to address common behaviour challenges.

In our Loose Leash workshop, you and your dog will learn how to work at a team. We will explore how to build your relationship with your dog so that you can enjoy your walk together instead of being dragged down the sidewalk. We will also take time to discuss how different walking tools work, figuring out what set up may be the best fit for your dog, and how body language can impact your dog's behaviour.

Nothing like a post-class play session to end the day ❤️

While it’s not technically necessary for your puppy or dog to interact with other dogs outside their family unit, it can be helpful to know how they tend to behave around other dogs. It can help you know whether to advocate for your dog’s space, or when it’s okay for them to “say hi” to another dog.

At the end of the day, it’s important to remember that not all dogs like other dogs - and that’s okay! It’s more important they feel safe and know how to calmly co-exist than to be able to engage is wrestle mania 🤪
