Flamenco Singing & Theory Workshop
Registry Theatre
12 noon - 1 pm
Free!
If you're at into flamenco, you may have caught on by now that flamenco dancing and guitar-playing go hand-in-hand with the singing. In fact, I venture to say that they largy revolve around the singing. Whether you're a flamenco guitar-player or a dancer, knowing some flamenco melodies is integral to your craft, even if you never dare to sing in public. And, if you're wanting to learn flamenco singing, then this workshop is definitely for you! Led by our 2025 guests singer, Alvaro Echanóve, who is joining us for this weekend only from Montreal, will teach you some basic flamenco melodies and how the guitar and dance relate to them. All participants must sing but singing will be done as a group and with Alvaro. If you know that you can make it, please shoot us an email at [email protected], but you're also welcome to just show up at noon on July 5th at The Registry Theatre. This workshop is being offered for free! Thanks to our sponsors and funders.
Thank you to the for providing us with the space to host this.
Shout out to put friend who made this poster and who's doing a show with Alvaro the next day in Oakville! Stay tuned for details 😉

Student Showcase from the Flamenco students of ! Part of the 2025
July 5th
2 - 2:30 pm
Registry Theatre
Free!
While and the might theoretically be separate entities, they are inextricably linked and you can't really have one without the other. Claudia & Julian (a.k.a. Calú and Jules) began the Fest in 2018 with the purpose of garnering more interest in Flamenco so as to better support their small but very enthusiastic student body. We - CnJ - run such a small enterprise that it's impossible to host an annual student show the likes of other dance and music schools; however, this year, thanks to the support of , our students finally have a proper theatrical platform, and we're delighted that we can merge their showcase with the Flamenco Fest festivities. Our regular class attendees have collectively created such a warm and supportive environment these past few years and we're hoping that friends and family members will come celebrate them and their artistic achievements with us. To the ladies and gent of our classes: you give us a reason to call Waterloo home. Can't wait to see you shak'n a leg at the showcase 🙂🤩.
