I wrote these words a few years ago, one year after losing my mom.
Today, on Mother’s Day, I felt called to share them again — not from sadness, but from love, gratitude, and remembrance 🤍

One year ago, I kissed and hugged my mom for the last time.
She could no longer speak, so I listened to her breathing and held her hand while telling her the things I felt she would want me to hear one last time:

That everything is okay.
That everything will be okay.
That she can rest peacefully.
That one day, somehow, we will meet again.

I told her how deeply loved she is.
How much light she brought into our lives.
And how that light never truly leaves us.

What followed after were years of grief during one of the most difficult periods of my life, when everything seemed to fall apart.
But slowly, life continued moving.
My life changed, new people entered my life, and healing arrived quietly, in small moments.

Mother’s Day can be beautiful, but also emotional for many people.

Some are celebrating.
Some are grieving.
Some are missing someone deeply today.

This is why I wanted to repost this reminder: we never truly know what someone is carrying behind their smile, their work, or their silence.

Be kind to one another.
Be gentle with people.
Not only during difficult moments, but always.

And if you are lucky enough to still hug your mother today, hold her a little longer for me 🤍
