The first week of September can feel intense! New routines, back to school, back to all the things that pause in the summer months. 😅
Despite this sudden shift, fall has always been my favourite season. The crisper air, the cooler nights, the changing trees - it feels like a refresh and refocus after the (necessary) summer fun and relaxation.
As the sun slowly sets on the summer season and we move into fall it can be a great time to pause, reflect, and reset.
I’m feeling inspired and excited to work on some things I’ve been mulling over the last months. 🥰
What are you looking forward to this fall? Or is summer your #1? Any goals or inspiration you’re refocusing on?

I’ve seen so many other people say this too: I’ve been waiting to “say the right thing”. To mull and think and process until I came up with the words that could do justice to my inner thoughts and what is going on in the world right now.
My heart has been heavy and my brain full over the last few weeks - reading posts, watching videos, digging into books, talking to friends and family, and reflecting on my notes from Diversity and Inclusivity Course.
There have been tears, there has been anger and there has been lots of discomfort as I continue to unpack and unlearn things I didn’t even know were inside of me and face the truth of the systems we live in, the benefits I have received and all I’ve taken for granted.
I have shared posts, quotes, videos, and resources that have helped me to learn more about systemic racism and what it means to be an anti-racist, in the hopes that others will be encouraged to do the same. But posting my own words felt hard for my introvert self. And then it became clear - there is no way to “get this right” and even trying to, shows my privilege. I am still going to say the wrong thing sometimes - it’s part of this messy process and part of the growth. And when I do get it wrong? I hope you call me in - let’s talk about it. My ears, brain and heart are open.
I pledge to continue to do the inner work so that I can be part of the outer change.
To amplify and centre BIPOC voices whenever possible.
And to continue this work indefinitely.
The time is now.

Happy Family Day!
I ❤️ this Canadian holiday for a few reasons:
👌🏼 Having a long weekend to break up the long winter stretch is key
👨👩👧👦 Having a day to intentionally spend with family or call or just be grateful
💕 Or if family is tough, a day to be grateful for the other people in your life who have become your chosen family
👣 A day to get outside and move, even if it’s cold, to enjoy this beautiful wintry country 🇨🇦
What are you doing with your Family Day?
Enjoy! 👣❄️🌲🇨🇦👨👩👧👦❤️
