Significantly less Canadian visas will be issued in the next 3 years!

In Ottawa, Minister of Immigration, Marc Miller, presented a new vision for Canada's immigration policy focused on sustainable management and improved integration of temporary residents, which include international students, temporary workers, and individuals seeking refuge. Acknowledging the current challenges, such as the need to support the labor market and address the growing number of asylum seekers, the strategy aims for a more responsive system that aligns with Canada’s economic and social goals.

Key to the plan is a thorough review and improvement of temporary worker programs to address labor market needs and prevent abuses (this is exactly what we predicted, fake job offers will be targeted). Additionally, the strategy introduces integrating temporary resident arrivals into the Immigration Levels Plan, aiming for a strategic balance in population growth and community integration.

Collaboration with provinces and territories will tailor immigration strategies to local needs, facilitating transitions from temporary to permanent residency. The objective is to adjust temporary resident numbers to 5% of the population within three years, ensuring a balanced approach to integration.

Minister Miller's vision emphasizes a recalibrated, growth-oriented immigration system that values the contributions of newcomers, ensuring a resilient and welcoming Canada for future generations.
